Η ιστορική εκκλησία της Παναγίας Βλασσαρούς ή των Εισοδίων
της Θεοτόκου, η εκκλησία που έδωσε το όνομά της σε όλη την περιοχή και την
ομώνυμη ενορία, είχε υποστεί αρκετές ζημιές στην διάρκεια της Επανάστασης του
1821. Το 1834 στέγασε το Πρωτοδικείο Αθηνών. Χρησιμοποιήθηκε και ως εκλογικό
κέντρο. Κατά την κατεδάφισή της αφαιρέθηκε η τοιχογραφία της Παναγίας, η οποία
σώζεται μέχρι σήμερα.
The historic church of Panagia Vlassarou, or the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, which gave its name to the whole area and the homonymous parish, had suffered damage during the years of the Greek Revolution in the 1820s. In 1834 it hosted the Court of First Instance of Athens. It was also used as a polling station. At the time of its demolition, the wall-painting of the Virgin Mary was removed, and has survived to this day.
